Re: Why is 3rd Edition so much better then 2nd Edition

FWIW, I LOVE 3e and actively dislike 2e. I felt 2e was an overcomplicated mess that lost a lot of the simplicity of 1e somewhere in translation. I still bought the books, because hey, I love M&M and Green Ronin, but I lost my enthusiasm for playing. 3e was like a breath of fresh air to me. It felt m...

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Except that the heroes were specifically not oblivious to it, ever going so far as to make sure the ships only crashed into the water & making sure to first clear the buildings. Steve went to great lengths to save the lives of as many people as possible, only causing physical damage to very specifi...

Re: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I saw it and liked it. Definitely one of the better Marvel movies to date. Cap did pay some more lip service to his idealism in terms of dialog, something that Man of Steel didn't handle as well. But I never saw Cap and others going out of their way to help innocents getting caught in the crossfire...

http://www.heroicmultiverse.com/heroicpub/previews/preview.php?ic=ch60 An to think we give mid 90's Image a hard time for making us all look like perverts.... An it actually gets worse if you read the content. *shudder* Holy fish and chips, Batman. Sex sells, but this is supposed to be a game. Did ...

Re: NBC's Heroes Reborn

The other major problem was the show just didn't have the budget to pull off a serious "pull out all the stops" super powered show down, even for a season finale. The exact moment I abandoned all hope for the show was when Peter and Sylar were going to have their big showdown that had been brewing ...

Re: A common conceit of today's comics writers.

I don't think I'm hating on Superman or even Man of Steel (I like Superman, and Man of Steel was okay in my opinion), but no, there is no way any sane news organization (debatable whether these actually still exist) would portray Superman in a good light. Superman would most certainly be blame for ...

Re: A common conceit of today's comics writers.

An unbending no-kill policy can be justified for some heroes like Superman (who values all sentient life and views killing as the ultimate betrayal of the Hope he stands for), Batman (who views killing as the anathema of everything Bruce Wayne created the Batman to stop), or Spider-man (who is stro...

Re: [Green] Arrow TV Series

This show continues to impress me. Season 2 has been consistently good. And whenever I think the writers are stuck and planning on milking certain plots and character far past their usefulness, they immediately move the story forward. One of my biggest frustrations with Smallville was the lack of fo...

Re: Power Level Limits and Advantages

Maneuvers like power attack and the advantages that correspond to them allow one to exceed PL. Likewise, circumstance bonuses and any bonus from extra effort or hero point usage also ignore PL.

Whether you can combine the trade offs from two or more maneuvers at the same time is up to the GM, though.

Me too. I prefer the hardcover to the slipcase myself, so I actually don't mind this change at all.

International Trailer with a lighter tone:

I actually think this would have worked better as the US trailer. Feels less dark than the other trailer, more light, more of a classic wise cracking Spider-Man vibe to it.

You mean the "Nolan" Batman movies? Zack Snyder hasn't directed a Batman movie (yet).

Re: Gal Gadot cast as Wonder Woman

The creators for this film series already have shown they don't care about the aesthetics of the characters, with Laurence Fishburne as Perry and Jimmy Olsen being a girl. Why so many people are so surprised they went away from expected for WW is beyond me, at this point. Jimmy Olsen wasn't in the ...

Re: Amazing Spider-Man 2

especially since I hate the Raimi Green Goblin's ultra cheesy Power Ranger style costume. I will give you that one, no argument. It's kind of funny because he was actually scarier looking without the mask. I think the mask wasted Willem Dafoe's talents. The guy is an amazing actor and was fantastic...
