Re: Storn Art Reboot

Wanted a modern take on a Roman Legionnary and so chose shock lance, sword and gun. Also had to have the big shield and a modern take on the sandals etc that a legionnary would wear. Also important to note that it is not an officer type but one of the troops. The Bobby is based on the Victorrian era...

Re: Time of the Doctor (Doctor Who Christmas Special)

I was disappointed with the jump between the Doctor and the life of Clara having a Christmas Day meal with family. They threw all those monsters in (not just Cybermen, Sontarans and the Daleks) and did so little with them. But they tied up a couple of things. So we have a new start with the next Doc...

Re: Gal Gadot cast as Wonder Woman

Ben Affleck as Batman ?
And now this ?

At least Affleck is saying that he was not good in that. Gadot is not physically imposing enough to be Wonder Woman. In My Not So Humble Opinion.

Re: The HOBBIT An Unexpected Journey 2013

I saw it on Friday 13th and yes they play fast and loose with the book again. If you have arachnophobia you will be running out of the cinema early on. It really makes the flesh crawl. Then you have the reappearance of Legolas and the new female character Tauriel. The escape by barrals is turned int...

Re: The new Doctor Who [SPOILERS]

The episodes found are two Patrick Troughton tales. Enemy of the World is now complete and Web of Fear is missing one episode. The former has Troughton playing two roles, the Dr and the evil political leader, while the latter is a UNIT story and has the Yeti wandering around the London Undeground.

Have mercy on our souls ! Don't include John Senile !

Oh and you have the Anvil and the Bulldog but no Bret ?

Re: The new Doctor Who [SPOILERS]

The new Doctor should be good news. There may be less running and more intelligence. But we have to hope the writers take this into account. And while we are on wish lists a return to a somewhat normal companion would be nice like Rose.

Re: Star Trek Into Darkness [May 17, 2013]

Why remake the second movie ? I mean seriously. The big fault I have with the film is how close the ships are to each other or the station before going into warp. Never heard of impulse power ? The look of the Klingons was lamentable. One of the only good outcomes is Roddenberry's maxim. No battlesh...

Re: The Wolverine [Hugh Jackman 2013 film]

Seen it.
Read the original mini-series.
Interesting idea for the link to the family and the other villain that was brought in. And how to make him vulnerable. I could have done without the girlfriend flashbacks however.
Waiting for the end credit sequence was a joy.

Re: Man of Steel 2013 film SPOILERS

I have also seen the movie and echo whay some of the other posters have said. The fights in Smallville and then when Superman returns to Metropolis to fight Zod show too much property destruction. Hurling the other Kryptonian into the railyard risks lives and that is something Superman does not do. ...

It had giant monsters and giant robots. It had Idris Elba. 'Nuff said.
Pearlman's cameo was brilliant.
The new Godzilla has something to live upto.
