Re: Cloning Heroes: Vanguard or AEGIS?

Well, I would expect that the faction I use to be willing and able to clone superhumans, then brainwash the clones. From what I can tell, neither of them has a really strong grip on the brainwashing bit.

Cloning Heroes: Vanguard or AEGIS?

Some weeks in the future, the Emerald City Sentinels campaign I'm playing in is going to turn into a round robin. I've got a wicked idea for the second session I'm going to run, which will probably break down into two sessions. First session, my character appears to be abducted by aliens. Xeno then ...

Aura in 3e?

The Emerald City Knights campaign I'm in right now is going to turn into a round robin game once we've gotten through the prewritten adventures in perhaps a month. I'm stepping up to the plate first, and for my first session I'm going to have White Knight and his numerous buddies in the KKK rain on ...

Re: The absolute BEST first session

How to make the best first session is going to depend on who you're GMing for and what kind of characters they play. If they're all new guys you should probably keep it simple, while if you're playing with veterans you can throw more complicated stuff at them. Everybody should have a chance for thei...

Re: Destroying Planets: Living vs Non-Living

I suppose it could be a genre convention thing....at the time it seemed to me like one of those unintended quirks of the system, like how in D&D you could hide yourself in someone's rectum if you had a high enough Acrobatics or whatever the skill was.

Re: Destroying Planets: Living vs Non-Living

Conclusions? For planets of similar size, living planets are many magnitudes of order harder to destroy than non-living ones. A weapon that ordinarily annihilates Earth-like planets in a single blast (or barrage or what have you) will be unable to damage a living planet of similar size and compositi...

Destroying Planets: Living vs Non-Living

Many times have we had discussions about destroying planets, but have looked at the planets as characters? Let's take the Earth. Its diameter is approximately rank 21 distance. Let's err on the generous side and assume that it's made entirely of Titanium for a base toughness of 15. Following the rul...

Re: Fun/Stupid Powers You've Built

Maybe, but point for point none of those compare to weaponized time travel or dimension travel.

Re: Fun/Stupid Powers You've Built

Well he could have, but as I recall the gun targeted my abysmally poor reflex save and was quicker than any other alternatives. Well, I shouldn't say that. He could just as easily have weaponized dimension travel.

Re: Fun/Stupid Powers You've Built

I'm currently tinkering with a rock star with a magic guitar that gives him sonic superpowers. You can bet that I'll be using the Check Required (Expertise: Rock Star) in his device Also, not something I made, but back in 2e I made a Juggernaut expy (100% toughness shifted, all impervious, high fort...

That's not you get that power. What your player wants is Communication (Radio).

No, that's an attack that could only move them if they're already in space.

And for the record, the next time you have a whole bunch of questions, try to put them all in one thread.

Re: Question about arrays

Think of it this way: if you lit a match and used it to set some newspaper on fire, would the newspaper cease burning once you extinguished the match? Obviously, the answer is no, and powers in an array work the same way; the condition afflicted is independent of the source power.

Re: Fun/Stupid Powers You've Built

The OP is a clear example of why I think Check Required is a terribly written flaw. It is very possible to use it to shave points without ever being actually troubled by it. I usually have it made into a complication instead. If you want to get really dirty, put Check Required on all the powers on ...

Re: Grabs (M&M 3e)

You know, I think I could get behind a homebrewed "Cling" action, but there would have to be some constraints. For example, the Cling action could only be performed on someone that was at least 2 ranks of Growth worth larger than you and strong enough to carry your weight around with penalty, becaus...
